About Us
In January 2020, our first ring was crafted using a drill, hammer, and aluminum ring mandrel. It was a terrible finished product but we knew it could only get better from there. The desire to make a quality coin ring turned into several presses, dies, and other specialized tools, along with hours of watching videos and dozens upon dozens of trials and failures. Eventually, we honed the process by learning from some of the greats and then implementing our own processes that worked for us to create these beautiful pieces. By 2022, what started as a hobby of making rings for family and friends shifted into a small business, Mitten State Foundry!
For us, it's about quality, not quantity. Rest assured, if you place an order through Mitten State Foundry you will receive the highest level of quality for a very reasonable price.

Is this legal? Yes, it is! People often ask, "Isn't this against the law?" No, it's not, and here's why. United States laws state that it is illegal to deface or alter currency 'with the intention to defraud'. For instance, it is illegal to alter a one-dollar bill with the intent to pass it off as a ten-dollar bill. 18 U.S.C. 331 says, “Whoever fraudulently alters, defaces, mutilates, impairs, diminishes, falsifies, scales, or lightens any of the coins coined at the mints of the United States, or any foreign coins which are by law made current or are in actual use or circulation as money within the United States."
